Abigor – Opus IVÂ (Re-issue CD)
Witness the return of Abigor’s magnum opus. Opus IV stands as a monumental achievement in the history of Black Metal, capturing the dark, atmospheric, and melancholic essence of early 90s Austria. This 2022 re-issue offers fans a chance to own this classic in the highest possible quality available today.
Meticulous Restoration from Original Sources
This is not a simple remaster or a low-effort re-release. The band and label have spent years preparing these items, meticulously collecting and assembling artwork from original photos, books, snippets, drawings, negatives, postcards, and rub-letters.
Everything has been rebuilt from scratch using the same original bits and pieces used back in the 90s. Unlike many other old works that are merely scanned cheaply, some flaws were corrected here with the aim to retain—and even surpass—the first pressings.
“In the early 90s, a special kind of energy was at work. Back at Hörnix, we may have captured a whiff of that incredibly dense atmosphere… We bow our head and humbly share our memories of those glorious reckless days, when our youthful spirit was feeding the flame to burn the world to ashes.” – Abigor
