ANCIENT RITES forged a distinctive union of black and death metal on their debut album, The Diabolic Serenades. This official 2024 repress from Soulseller Records presents the Belgian extreme metal classic as a limited ultra-clear vinyl LP in an elegant gatefold sleeve.

The album combines demonic growls, dark melodic riffing and dynamic songwriting that moves between oppressive slow passages, galloping rhythms and thrash-driven aggression. Atmospheric keyboards and layered vocals deepen the sinister mood without diminishing the record’s raw underground force.

Tracks such as “Satanic Rejoice”, “Longing for the Ancient Kingdom” and “Morbid Glory” reveal a band developing its own identity rather than simply following the established Scandinavian or American formulas. The result is an essential document of early Belgian black/death metal.
