Somebody will always make a thread asking: “What is the actual best black metal album ever made?”

Somebody will say Transilvanian Hunger. Somebody will say De Mysteriis. Somebody will say Drawing Down The Moon. Somebody will say Si Monvmentvm.

And then somebody will post one word.

And then the thread ends.

Because everybody knows. Everybody agrees. There is no argument.

INRVI did not just make another dissonant black metal album. He took the entire formula that Deathspell Omega invented, and he perfected it. He made it better. He took the most intricate, punishing dissonant riffs ever written and wove them together with these impossibly beautiful, heart breaking melodies that emerge out of the chaos when you least expect them.

There is not a single bad second on this entire album. There is not a single weak riff. There is not a single note out of place. It is perfect. It is absolute perfection. There is nothing else like it. Nobody has ever come close. Nobody ever will.

And then he vanished.

This is the only full length album INRVI ever released under the name VI. It came out in 2015. For almost 10 years now the entire scene has been waiting for a follow up. Nobody knows if it will ever come.
