Eventide on Aurora is the 2025 full-length album by Finnish black metal project White Rune, released via Hammer of Hate Records. Formed in 2021, White Rune has quickly established itself within the Finnish underground, delivering raw, austere and atmospheric Black Metal deeply rooted in the Suomi tradition.

This latest album represents a clear evolution in both composition and intensity. Sharper guitars, more direct aggression and an even stronger occult atmosphere define Eventide on Aurora, while maintaining the underground spirit that characterized the band’s earlier releases.

Authentic Finnish Black Metal Atmosphere

From the intro track “Eventide”, layered with ominous keys and dungeon-like ambiance, the album unfolds into a journey through dark fantasy, mysticism and diabolical rites. The sound is triumphant yet sinister — medieval in spirit, yet drenched in cold northern darkness.

Tracks such as “Nightweaver” and “Arcane Journeys” showcase relentless tremolo riffing and driving percussion, while “Vampyric Dark Majesty” adds heavy organ textures reminiscent of the vampyric branch of the Finnish scene.

Melody plays an important role throughout the album, yet it never softens the extreme character. Instead, it enhances the cold, hypnotic atmosphere that defines this record.

White Rune stands alongside contemporary Finnish acts such as White Death, Aethyrick, and Sarastus — bands that continue to expand the legacy shaped by the pioneers of the 90s Finnish scene.
