LIFELOVER Sjukdom CD (jewel case)
Sjukdom is the fourth and final studio album from Swedish Depressive Black Metal pioneers Lifelover. Released on February 14, 2011, this album is a perfect swan song — a mix of atmosphere, emotions, and rawness that resonates with every fan of extreme music.
A few months after the release of Sjukdom, the band announced their decision to end their activities due to the tragic death of Jonas “B” Bergqvist, the guitarist and a founding member of Lifelover. This album stands as a testament to their creative peak and emotional depth, blending experimental soundscapes, atmospheric melodies, and raw emotion.
The album features a high-quality production with sharp guitars, well-thought-out keyboards, and a mix of vocals — from spoken passages to growls and screams. The drums, generated by a drum machine, contribute to the album’s strict and cohesive sound, perfectly fitting the overall atmosphere. Tracks like Led By Misfortune, Totus Anctus, Karma, and Homicidal Tendencies are standout moments, but every track on this album is a classic in its own right.
Sjukdom is original, experimental, and yet easy to love. It is a perfect album to check out if you are new to the band and will leave a mark for experimental extreme metal for many years to come.
