MOONBLOOD – Embraced By Lycanthropy’s Spell (2CD)
Cult Evil German Black Metal! Moonblood unleashes a massive archival
beast with Embraced By Lycanthropy’s Spell. This expansive 2CD release
captures the band’s Reh/Demo 13, originally recorded over a sprawling period between
1998 and 1999.
For this 2021 release via
Misanthrophia Discos,
the material has been professionally restored directly from the original tape. The result is a colossal
14-track journey that showcases the band’s raw, unfiltered extremity at the turn of the millennium.
Disc 1 opens with a vicious cover of Sepultura’s Antichrist, followed by the
epic title track, the dark Templar’s Penitence, and the atmospheric Under the Goatmoon.
It closes with the sprawling Sarg und Tod (Part II).
Disc 2 kicks off with Sarg und Tod (Part I) and continues the assault with
tracks like the haunting I’m Yours Eternally, the brutal Metal Slaughter, and a
surprisingly faithful and crushing cover of Iron Maiden’s legendary “The Trooper”.
The disc also includes rare glimpses into the band’s creative process with the Unfinished Tracks,
making this an absolute must-have for completists.
A mandatory acquisition for collectors of cult German Black Metal, rare rehearsal tapes, and the true,
uncompromising underground spirit.
